A “battery alternative” that charges 100 to 1000 times faster and lasts longer. Now THIS would change everything!
FaceDeals, a so called “future of check-ins”, Minority Report style. Thanks, but no thanks. Give me checking-in through NFC and we’ll start talking.

Fifa approves the use of technology in football to verify goals. Hawk-eye and GoalRef, see how they work.
Hawk-eye is exactly what is currently used in tennis (high-speed cameras from several angles to confirm exactly where the ball was). GoalRef is the chip technology that alerts the ref when the ball goes over the line to score a goal.
IMHO, they should have followed the rugby route and just use the instant replay analysis. It would allow for intervention not only for “was the ball in or not” situations but also for clear offside, handballs or other clamorous mistakes that are still a disgrace to the sport.
Google Glasses - The line between cool and creepy is getting thinner in the technology world
Sony launches it’s sports themed ambush campaign called “The Colours of Sport”.
As Sony is not an Olympic Partners (those would be Samsung and Panasonic) and it’s trying to associate itself with the Olympics (by using Gymnastics, Hurdling, Swimming and Football to represent it), I consider it a classic case of ambush marketing. Though in this case, it’s a well played and legal one, through the use of “sport” which is public domain.

Livestrong Park and they way they see technology in stadium
“In most sports world teams I see today, they look at it as an expense. Technology is actually a revenue generation mechanism and I’m actually using it to my advantage to have additional opportunities for sponsors and for my fans to get some benefit out of it.”

When Nike launched Nike+ with Apple it was definitely quite a step forward, getting people more involved with training, connecting the world of sport with the world of technology (and apps) in a way that many people now do.
Their latest move is the Nike+ Fuel Band. As it’s still in pre-release my main question are how much will it cost and will it be iPhone only.
I do like the concept, though.
As a part of Nike’s #MakeItCount campaign, the brand officially launched its lastest piece of new technology: the Nike+ Fuel Band which measures nearly every aspect of life as a sport.
Since January 1st, Nike has pushed the #MakeItCount hashtag asking its audience “how will you #makeitcount” and soliciting millions and millions of responses. The Nike+ Fuel Band measures your daily activity and turns it all into NikeFuel. So you can set a goal for every day and then go out and beat it. Life is a sport. Make it Count.
One of the greatest things the internet offers is access to information.
What if it was taken even further with simple technology and made accessible to illiterate people in the rural areas of India?
PS: Even here you’ll find the power of sports as the kids ask about the cricket results. =)

Spotify Apps
I’m a Spotify Fan so I’ll share any of the new things they come up with. But in this case, the apps do seem quite cool.
It’s great to see Spotify become more of a platform because music is definitely social, and some info like lyrics, when you favourite bands are coming to town and so many other opportunities.
Keep it coming Spotify!
